hey i got a 133 sd 256mb of ram stick
when i put it in a computer the computer and bois dectecs it as 128mb of ram
i have tryed it on two computers and both say this
it is not a double sided ram stick
so is it bad ram?

It could be faulty, or it could be too high density for the systems - how many chips are on it?

there is 8 chips
and 1 very small one of the right side
and 1 very small one of the right side

I think the density is likely the problem. Quite a few systems that used PC133 SDRAM needed standard density 16-chip DIMMs, and they read high density 8-chip DIMMs at half capacity.

Also, if they are older systems, each slot may not be able to support more than 128mb. I have a 256mb of pc133mhz ram, and I put it an older computer that supports only a total of 256mb of ram. Turns out, it only detected it as 128mb because it has two slots for ram, but each one only supports a max of 128mb.

i got one slot with 256 mb pc133 sd ram
and a other with 128 mb pc 133 sd ram
and my motherboard can take no more then 512mb of ram
and a other with 128 mb pc 133 sd ram

I thought it would only say that because some ram is used for your video card...
