I have a new firewall suite. It's giving me pop ups about possible threats. Is there a place on the web I can go to research threats as they pop up?
The current "threat" has happened twice in a short period.
Win.MSSQL.worm.Helkern
Thank you

This is your firewall, not your A-V, correct?
It's probably just a spam-bot pinging all of the IP addresses near you. The firewall is doing it's job and you should not worry
There really isn't a one-stop place to go and research. Malware is in a constant state of change. Googling and going to the different security forums will help you keep a leg up

Mark
why won't my laptop work?
Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits

Thanks for the rely(and redirection).
When I did Google the term, nothing came up. I've tried various different web sites with no results.
Would it be okay to mention the message here?
And I did update my Firewall+av info here at BC. I am now using Kaspersky 2009,so it's both a firewall+av.
Thanks
honu1
BTW-Can you give me the names of just a few security forums, please?

Thanks for all the links,extremeboy.
The spywareinfo.com one seems to be closed tho. Domain has expired as of 10/3/2008
The other links don't offer immediate help yet. It would appear that one must register for the forums first?
Thanks again

Hi honu1.
Sorry for the delay. I think I missed you accidentally.
Oh. Sorry, my bad didn't check out these links for a long time.
Yes. It's same as BC and any other forums. You will need to register first before posting or seeking for help. Same goes for any other forums as well. Also you usually wouldn't get "immediate" help after you post. Depending on the number of people there and also the number of people seeking for help you might need to wait a while. Hopefully you will get help soon.
Any thing else?
