Hi,
Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but i'll try anyway!!
I'm using a laptop i have at my parents house & i haven't been here for a few weeks, logged on today and was uanble to sign in to windows messenger, via the msn toolbar. It just froze and i had to shut everything down and start again.
I used ctrl, alt delete and had a program running called search_glow (i think it was called that) did a quick search on it and most things on it seemed to say just delete the windows/msn toolbar and the problem should be solved. I done this, but then i still couldn't log into messenger, so i deleted all windows messenger bits via add/remove programmes and tried re-installing it. Seemed to work but then nothing happened when i tried to open it by clicking start then windows live messenger!!
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling it a couple of times but didnt seem to do much good! so i thought i'd restart the laptop and try again!!
Touble is when i tried to restart it keeps saying msnmsgr.exe is still running and asks if i want to end it, i click end now and it seems to do its stuff, then it just comes up with the same thing over and over, even though i ask it to end it!!
So i went into ctrl/alt delete and clicked on processes and there's about 15 entries for msnmsgr.exe if i click one and select end process it says terminating a process can cause undesirable results including loss of data and system instability.
Is it ok to end processed using windows ask manager? or will it all go wrong if i do this?
All i want to do is log into messenger and speak to a few people!!! lol, anyone know what i can do to get back on track?
Thanks,
Leanne

I have sort of managed to solve this!!!
I figured if there was 15 processes for msnmsgr running then i'd need to click end task at least 15 times before i could restart the laptop!! Seems to have worked and everything seems ok (for now!!)
