Ok, I live in Connecticut, and my sister lives in Vermont.

I installed linux on her laptop because i hated always having to drive up to vermont just to fix 2,000 viruses that she somehow manages to put on her computer.

Little did i know that she was not very adaptive to a whole different operating system.

I would really like some kind of way to log on to and control her computer from mine while i am still in connecticut.

I have linux and a linux virtual machine on my pc. I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction so that i can fix all of her adapting with linux problems!

Thanks!

You can use a VPN client or desktop sharing client there are many that are free and secure for linux. A good google search should pull up a few.

TightVNC will do what you need. Be sure to read the FAQ's.

Should be in your software install program. (Synaptic?)
You didn't say which distro you both are using.

I have also used UltraVNC before, works nicely and simply to install, just make sure no firewalls are blocking it.
If I am helping you and don't reply in 24 hours please send me a PM
