I am trying to reinstall windows, but there is one fatal problem.
When I see the message: "Press any key to boot from cd..."
I cant! My keyboard only loads (both my USB+PS2) after the OS does..

how can I bypass this message that appears when my computer boots? I am trying to make it automatically boot from CD without asking me, does anyone know how? thanks in advance.

Hi ryobreak

Weird problem. The keyboard should be one of the first things to load. Have you set the CD drive as the first boot device in the bios?

What OS have you got and what OS are you trying to install?

Maybe try this. Go to bootdisk.com, get a bootable floppy, boot with CD Rom support, switch to the CD drive and run setup. This should allow you to avoid the keyboard problem.

okay, the bootdisc works. but now there is a new error.

The default local drive, C:, is the "removal drive" and my 2ooGiG internal HD is now named "F:"

This absolutely stinks, because any program tries to save itself in C:/program files, but it doesn't exist. My windows files are all under F:/windows/system32, so I cant assign the drive another letter.

Is there a way to fix this? thanks in advance.

I don't understand "removal drive". What is that?

Lets start over. I need to know:

What boot disk you are using, 98?
How many drives in this machine? 1 Hard drive and 1 CD drive?
What OS are you trying to install?
Can you get into the bios?
