BleepingComputer.com: Combining LAN & Wireless

I have cable highspeed internet service. The cable modem feeds the Linksys router which connects a PC in the basement and my home office PC on the first floor. My wife just purchased an older Stinkpad for general use..... however she does not want to have to hook it up to a wire to use the internet ... she wants it to be wireless.

My question, is there anyway to pull a wireless connection without having to change the two pc's which I have networked with a LAN line? Obviously the easy (more $$) would be to buy a wireless router, pc wireless cards and voila all are connected.

My thought was

Cable Modem => Linksys Router => PC 1 => PC 2
=> Wireless Router => laptop

Leaving the other working pcs alone??? Any brighter ideas? The laptop was $85 so trying to avoid spending more money than the laptop is worth ...

Hi,

The best way would be to buy a general wireless router to replace your current Linksys Router . They generally have 4lan ports on them which will allow you to connect the current PC's to, and then you will be able to connect the laptop wirelessly.
