I have a dsl connection and at specific times of the day(midnight), I experience intermittent connection, meaning the link led in my modem blinks for a long time. What do you think is the problem?

Hi,
If this is constantly happening at midnight every day then I'd give your ISP a ring and get them to investigate.
If the connection went off and stayed off then it could be something to look at. But with it only being intermittent then more than likely it'll be an issues with the ISP

I have that same hunch. Hmm, I'll monitor my connection again and see if it will still disconnect at midnight. Hopefully it wont.

Well, I still experienced intermittent connections but it comes back about 30mins then disconnects again, and its in the same time frame(1am-7am). Hmmm, what could be the possible causes? Maybe because of the filters or the physical lines?

You arn't having any disconnections when using the phone - this would result from faulty filters.
Other things that can affect a connection range from;
Low gain - this normally happens around peak times so that more people can get connected to the exchanges
Noise on the line - this can result in random disconnections, not normally at set times
Weather - if you have underground lines wet weather can cause issues, but these would be permanent not intermittent.
Ask your ISP to run a line test, this should turn up issues on the lines/in the exchange
