I've got a P5Q motherboard with four 1 tb drives set up in a raid 5 array. My problem is that when I start the Vista 64 installation I get to the part to choose a drive and load raid drivers. Once I load up the raid drivers, my raid is showing up but I get a prompt saying windows fails to locate a drive thats meets the criteria - or something similar so I cannot proceed.
I am only using 1 stick of ram, have flashed the bios to the latest version on the Asus site, loaded up the latest drivers from their site as well - all with the same results. I've tried to lower the size of the partition to below 2 tb and that did not help. I did notice that when I am in the raid manager that the raid reports as a non bootable drive when I set it to use all 4 drives in the raid 5.
I apologize for my ignorance  but any help is much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Please post back with the exact error message that Windows gives you - that'll assist us in locating an appropriate solution.

Also, you may want to read this article about RAID 5: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/RAID-5-Do...-2009,6525.html
I don't know if it's just panic setting in, or if they have a valid point (since I don't use RAID) - but you may want to consider it.

Hi, thanks again for your time.
Its not so much an error message but a prompt at the bottom of the window that pops up that shows me my target drive for the vista installation. The prompt reads, 'Windows is unable to find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation' and will not let me choose this drive.
I did speak with an Asus 'tech' who wasnt much help and he thought it was a problem with the motherboards bios and that I could try one of the N series boards...so maybe I have no choice here but get a different board.
