I'm having great difficulty transferring a 20 min. video from IMovie to IDVD.
I've gotten some very erratic results. What is most puzzling is that I succeeded in burning two separate discs that play fine in my cheapo standalone DVD players but freeze up on Mac and PC.
I have tried to copy the discs using Nero but it doesn't work and DVD Shrink can't make sense of it either to make a copy.
I need to have this and ten good copies for a presentation that will be projected via computer.
I am using Playo and Memorex -R discs. I have some Staples brand discs that I haven't tried yet but the IMovie to IDVD transfer takes about 2 hours and I am waiting for my latest attempt to see if the results are any different.

Was able to copy the disc made in IDVD by using Toast using Staples brand discs (Playo disc failed). The discs created by Toast plays in Mac, PC and standalone DVD player. I am trying to create the IMovie to IDVD right now with Staples disc. That will be the final piece of the puzzle..

It was the media all along.
I used the Staples brand -R discs and IMovie transferred flawlessly to IDVD.
Once I had a good burn on IDVD, I was able to make copies using any of the three media mentioned.
Apparently IDVD is very particular in brand of DVD media.

Imovie isn't brand specific...

Probably a dodgy batch, did the discs work in a pc?

Also quick note: toast, toast is bad for mac. remove if its a free copy

It affects the way the apple software interacts with the optical drives firmware.

Did the brand that didn't work, on the mac work on the pc by any chance?

Hmmm. That might be why I'm having trouble with the optical drive on my mac. I'll uninstall and see if it makes a difference, Thanks. thumbup2.gif
