A problem with entering hibernation is most often (IME) caused by corrupted video drivers. I'd suggest downloading the latest version of the video drivers from the support website of the manufacturer of the video chipset (ATI, nVidia, Intel, etc) and installing it.

actually it is fixed. he merely reformatted and reinstalled ALL his applications... we never knew what caused it, thats all.
