Disc drives are not working. they arent even in the device manager....

The light issue could also be explained by a bad IDE cable. I'm not saying that this is your problem, only that this could be a problem. It is worth checking out. You can pick up a IDE cable at most any computer shop, you might check Staples or Radio Shack. If time isn't an issue, you can order one from Newegg.

k i guess ill replace the ide cable then.

ill update in a few days and tell u if it works.
