There has been a lot of advertising for the finally fast application that is suppossed to get your computer running to it's peak efficiency. I have heard some negative reviews for this application and wanted to see if there was a better one out there or any information someone might have.

There never was and never will be a one stop miracle cure for a computer.

Thanks for the info. So I'm a little conflicted, all the reviews I have read said that RegCure is the top rated registry cleaner, but a lot of people are saying to stay away from registry cleaners that they do more harm than good. What are people's thoughts on this??

It can be unsafe to clean the registry if you use a bad program. Also, editing the registry manually if you don't know what you're doing is risky. The registry is the backbone of the computer, it is the foundation on which every application, process, and task runs. Messing with the registry can severely screw up the system to the point of failure. However, there are plenty of programs that might be of use to you. These usually do not mess with serious flaws in the registry; rather, they clean unpathed file names or empty links that, for example, you may have deleted from the Start Menu.
I personally use CCleaner ( http://www.ccleaner.com/ ) to do such a thing. I'm not sure if cleaning the registry is the best thing to do, but I have never ran into problems with it. Besides, CCleaner (as well as probably other cleaners, but make sure to look for this) asks you if you want to back up the registry before making any deletions to it. It backs up the registry keys you are about to delete, so in the case of a mishap, you can just double-click the backup and it will be merged with the registry once again, good as it was before you cleaned it.
