Herro world!

I need some reasurance before i make an install of LinuxMint on my mother's laptop. Her laptop an 1.9 ghz x2 accer is running Win Vista home premium (yuk) and i asked her if i was to continue upkeeping it for her i would like to install my fav os linux . Now usually i use good ol' ubuntu for this task and usually i install it on an xp machine. So will the installer recognize vista and create a grub entry for it and is there anything i need to remember when installing it? I havent done an install in a good 7 months so im just having a bit of a fright Xp.

Thanks in advance
Lyph

**SOLVED**
Dont worry about installing just do not shrink the windows partition during the installation. Rather shrink the partition within windows.
