How to connect and transmit data via an IP Visual Basic 2008 (.net)

Hi, I have no clue on how to do this what so ever, all tutorials I have found are for C++ or VB 6 which has inbuilt commands from the office suite. I am using 2008 Express Edition of VB.

I would like some code which will allow me to send data to an IP, that is basically it.
