In the past, when I've upgraded my Windows, I reformatted my HDD, and I am now going to Vista Ultimate 64 from XP Pro.

What is the best way:
1. Can I just do an upgrade and keep all my current data on my 2 Stripe RAID Hitachi 250's without reformatting?
2. If not, can I get a new 1TB 7200RPM SATA II - my board supports - put it in my system, copy all data over and then install Vista on it and then remove the other two HDD's?

Just looking for the best migration strategy.

Thanks for the help!

I upgraded XP 32 to Vista 64. You can dual boot XP Pro and Vista 64. The only way to go to 64-bit Vista as an upgrade is to do a clean install which is possible using an upgrade DVD.
