Sorry Jerrie, just noticed your reply. For some reason I didn't get an email notification.
That was fun working with you. You'll have to change your name now that you have reprogrammed a computer complete with hardware changes. If she has a CD from SBC she can run that but that will load all the Yahoo components to her system so she should be aware of that. If she doesn't want the Yahoo stuff, she can go to Control Panel>Dial up Networking>Make a new connection and she can simply run the wizard and enter her user name and password and connect that way. When the new connection is made she can drag that to the desktop and create a shortcut. Glad we were able to get this machine back up and running for your friend. Don't forget the anti-virus and anti-spyware measures need to be in place. Come back anytime! -------------------- **** We use our powers for good, not evil **** When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail. Abraham Maslo |

Thank you Leurgy for all your help, and others too. I did load Adaware and free avg7, but haven't run it till she gets signed on. (I think avg7 ask something about her e-mail) I'll help her get set up with dial-up.
Happy Mother's day everyone, it's a beautiful day here in north central Il. and I'm going golfing. Happy computering newbeee, Jerrie |
