Windows Photo Galler Messing Up?

I opened up a picture in windows photo gallery

and this is what shows

What could be the problem?
This happens when i zoom & on this computer.

Have you updated to the latest graphics drivers?
Also has this problem recently happened?

this problem just started happening.
i think after i installed the graphic drivers.
but i'm not too sure because i havn't used it in a while so i don't really know.

i'm trying to avoid all the recovery option since i work on this computer.

Some devices may not be working correctly, check the Device Manager.

1. Click Start then run
2. Type devmgmt.msc and press enter
3. Look through the list for yellow or red marks next to the entries.
4. Let us know what you find.

The event viewer may give some more information.

1. Click Start select run
2. Type eventvwr.exe
3. Press enter
4. Search through the groups for errors and warnings.
5. Double click on each error and or warning.
6. Let us know what you find. (paste the results)

I don't get what you mean by that? like what errors and how do i save the results?

The event viewer should contain 3 or so groups System, Application, Security. open each of these groups and look for errors and warnings. If you double click on each one you should get a description box that tells you about the error. This will hopefully shed some light on what is causing the problem.

Has alot of informations. These are the most recent. But theres alot of errors/warnings

There are some problems there, the System File Checker, it may be able to help. http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html

1. Click Start
2. Then run.
3. Type sfc /scannow
4. Press enter.
5. Follow the prompts

The SFC works by checking Windows system files and replacing the damaged files.

Does this problem happen on any other applications?
Also do you know the make and model of your graphics card?

Everytime i watch a video it freezes and when i try to move the move and stuffs it won't move so i would have to restart my computer.
Anyone know why that would happen? (btw there isn't any virus in this computer, i scan)

Try opening command prompt, and try the sfc command again.

http://www.pxserver.com/WinAudit.htm will audit your system, you can use this to find the graphics hardware.

I have not used this with Vista before, but http://www.updatexp.com/sherlock-codec-detective.html should be able to find damaged codecs.

I am doing the sfc /scannow thing.

the audit - i downloaded it and ran it but i don't understand what i need to do with that?

& the sherlock codec isn't downloading for me.

In winaudit, perform a scan, then on the left pane click Hardware Devices then Display adapters what do you find under this group?

I got the windows gallery fixed - now it's just fine.
( I had to reinstall the video driver)

now i need to fix the video stopping freezing problem.

Thats good news. :huh:

The video problem is most likely caused by the damaged codecs. Try installing a codec pack like K-Lite
