BleepingComputer.com: Script Error

Hi,
I'm on a Dell Inspiron 6400 Laptop, running Vista. As of yesterday, I've been getting a script error when it starts up. I also get an error when I run a program that has always worked fine before, and then I can't carry on. I don't profess to know ANYTHING about computers, this is for business and pleasure as it does my accounts etc for our hotel. This is all the info I can give you unless you can tell me where else to find other things

Could you give the name of the program that is causing the problem? Have you tried removing and reinstalling it?

The event viewer may give some more information.

1. Click Start select run
2. Type eventvwr.exe
3. Press enter
4. Search through the groups for errors and warnings.
5. Double click on each error and or warning.
6. Locate the copy to clipboard button, (under the two arrows)
7. Let us know what you find. (paste the results)

Oh it also says 10,535 events that are all either warnings or errors :s lots of different things from spooler printer to WLAN AutoConfig service stopped

That is what I'm looking for, the error message that you posted indicates that the system registry was unloaded.

Are there any others there?

Have you tried reinstalling the application that is causing the problem?

Hi. the script message I get says it's IE, on start up, so is it that I need to re install?

The error message you posted indicates problems with the computers hibernating function.

The script error may say Internet explorer but 9 times out of 10, Internet Explorer is not to blame. In most cases removal of the product in question then installing it again should solve the problem.

right so how do I sort out the hibernating function :s sorry to be a pain

This a good guide on Vista's sleep and hibernate function. http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/vista...a_hibernate.htm It will explain what it does and what settings are available. Its all down to user preference.
