I was uninstalling NTI CD and DVD Maker program because it wasn't working. Once I've done that, I didn't realise that the drive completely disappeared from My Computer until I booted up the next day to burn an audio CD.
When I checked Device Manager, there was an error message as I feared. I've tried installing the latest updates, but it stated that I was already using the latest one.
I have screenshots of the messages and statuses of what I'd done so far.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I called up my retail shop to ask if I was missing one of those CD-ROMs where they have reboot kits and reinstallation programs, but he said that new computers did not come packaged with those anymore. Then, what happens if I want to reinstall Vista someday?
Anyway, if anyone has a solution to my missing drive, and how I can claim it back so I can watch all my anime DVD-RWs, please kindly let me know.
If anyone has a recommended good DVD & CD maker program which is free for Vista, please also let me know. All my other programs can't install and work in Vista anymore.
Thank you!!
