Hi there, i've just fitted a new IDE hard drive to my Fujitsu Siemens cordant desktop but when I switch my pc on i'm getting a page of script and at the bottom of the script it says NTLDR is missing - press ctrl+alt+del to restart. However when I do this it takes me back to the same screen.

Any help would be much appreciated

Phil

Hi .

Is this new hard drive...the only hard drive installed?

If so...have you attempted to install XP on it?

Louis - it's a brand new hard drive and the only one installed, i've checked the connections and all seems ok, when I start the pc with the recovery disk installed it says:

Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM
No Emulation

Press any key to bot from CD......
NTLDR is missing

Thanks for your help

Well...I don't know anything about recovery disks and how they work...but I do know that drive has to be formatted before XP can be installed.

Perhaps you need to review the procedure for using your recovery CD with a new hard drive, if there are such.
