I have an older dell 4600 computer. I believe it's a 3.0 GHz processor. I'm running Windows XP. The problem is that my cd drive doesn't alway like to work so I was thinking of upgrading. I am looking for some recommendations for a new CD/DVD drive. I would like to be able to read and write to both formats. Thanks in advance for the help.

Any DVD burner will read and write to CD's also. I like to do my shopping at Newegg.com they have good prices and ship fast. From what I could find out, you will need one with an IDE connection.

Yes DVD burner will be able to read/write CD and DVDs.

Go for a Dual Layer DVD burner.

I love the LG DVD Burners - used them in last 4 builds - you can get a Lightscribe for around $30-$40 - use pricewatch.com or www.pricegrabber.com
