I bought a Dell 1525 laptop 6 months ago and was working fine until yesterday. I was browsing the Youtube website when suddenly the screen went blank (black screen). I re-started it but after just a flicker of the Dell logo, it is just a blank screen. The symptoms are like these whenever I boot-up the laptop: Nothing is displayed in the monitor. Unable to see Windows, but light and sound in the computer indicate that it is booting. The Dell logo flicker briefly then it went blank and won’t show anything. I tried pressing Fn and pressed the button for increasing the bright light to no avail. One friend told me that the screen inverter and/or backlight maybe defective? Is this maybe true and what are these? Please give technical advice or solution. Thanks a lot, I will appreciate it.

I don't quite think it would be the back light...

But I would venture a guess into the Inverter board.

But... 6 months? I'd contact dell in an inquiry about the warranty.
If I am helping you and I do not respond within 24 hours, please send me a PM. :)

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
