Well, I was doing a PC Tools Hardware Dignostic System Test that came with my HP computer. I ran it to do a system test. It came to the CPU part and then when it was doing a multicore test, it said "cannot run". Also, before this test, I did a system test and it said "misconfiguration" instead of "cannot run". I checked the log then and it said "There are four cores in the CPU and only 2 cores are enabled". Have you looked in the BIOS to see if there is anything there that would enable the other cores?
Normally, they would be enabled when you receive it. This must be a new unit, no? I would call them until they can answer your questions. BTW, I would like to know what the deal is as well. I have heard of turning off cores by right-clicking the process (in task manager), right-clicking affinity and unchecking the core but never having to enable them. How many show when you right-click the process and select Affinity? DR -------------------- |

Thanks for the response. It is a new unit, and I had to reformat it (built in [:D]) because of some issue.

Im dumb. This person in my clan told me to make a computer boot faster you make it boot with 2 processors. I forgot lol. I fixed it :D |
