Logging In To Isp

Can anyone tell me how to get back to the situation I once had wherebye, after clicking on the IE "e" icon and opening that, the ISP connection would be made without further imput from me. Now I have to click on the monitor icons in the bottom right or the ISP icon on the Desktop.

I am using Vista Home Premium.

Check your connection settings in Internet Options.

My work schedule is as follows: Mon and Tues 1800 to 0600, Friday - Sunday 1800EST to 0600, and Wednesday to Thursday 1800est to 0600. So if I do not respond right away I am at work.
