Can you be more specific? Which email client are using? Is it web based? What solutions have you tried?

Hi Dbough!
I'm using MS Outlook 2003 as my default email client.I recently got it configured so I could check my yahoo mail but then this vexing problem never seems to go away.
I tried to remove and readd my profiles, change my email account settings, delete and reenter my username and password from the prompt but to no avail.
I also learnt to delete Protected Storage subkey from the registry and rebooted the computer so the password would retain, still did not change.
Here's the error message I get each time I press send/receive button.
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'POP3', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR incorrect password or account name', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
Task '.com - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR incorrect password or account name'
There might be something I am missing but I don't have any clue. Thanks for your reply.

Are you using a free yahoo mail account or a subscription Yahoo! Mail account?
If you are using free account:
"You can use Outlook with many Yahoo! Mail e-mail accounts. However, free Web browser-based Yahoo! Mail accounts based in China, Taiwan, or the United States can only be used in Outlook if you have a paid subscription Yahoo! Mail account that includes POP3 access and forwarding."

Thanks again.
I've got a valid and good password for my free yahoo mail account.
What I really don't understand is that it cuts off now whenever I click on send/receive message after installing YPOP for free yahoo mail account without POP access3.And Outlook can not fetch my emails either.

Oh,it has worked now!
It only needed me to update the YPOP to latest version. But the problem now is that it's taking so long to download my email messages.
Thanks Queen-Evie for the link you've provided.
