Oh yes Grinler. I am all about the Coldplay too. Off Parachutes I really love Spies. My favorite is Green Eyes on Rush of Blood to the Head. I like that because I have green eyes...well I like to think so.LoL Hazel really.

lmfao.gif Squidfella~ I wouldn't normally reveal, but... I have a mild obsession with Neil Diamond. I grew up listening to Hot August Night. Do you know that one? I love listening to that album over and over. Love that Shiloh. w00t.gif

Personal favorites are Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Boston, The Glenn Miller Band, Stevie Ray Vaughn,

I like these, too, Dangitall, and have listened to them since their respective debut albums...except the Glenn Miller Band...but I'll never forget walkin' to a ballgame in Seattle with my Dad when he caught the sound of "In the Mood" from a balcony orchestra. We hung behind while the grandkids ran on ahead and it was good to see the sparkle in his eyes talkin' 'bout the good old days of Big Band.

I was more into Stevie "guitar" Miller flyin' like an eagle smile.gif

You should preserve those vinyl LP's on HDD...it takes time, but I'm finding not all of them have been re-released on CD. I'm still lookin' for some Jerry Garcia Band albums that I figured would for sure be out by now. (Reflections & Garcia) smile.gif

It's all good.

My collection of vinyl - yes, VINYL!

No offense to you phawgg but some people prefer the sound of vinyl. If it's in a resonable condition. How bout you Dangitall?

Steve Miller--yessss!

Don't have an extensive collection, but early blues:
Robert Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Mississippi John Hurt, Willie Dixon.

In 1972 these were the albums everyone was talking about, breaking new ground and already becoming classic--ya'll add more that I leave out:

Deep Purple--Machine Head
Jethro Tull--Aqualung
Black Sabbath--Paranoid
Santana--Abraxas
Yes--Fragile
ELP--Brain Salad Surgery
King Crimson--In the Court of the Crimson King

Well, some of these may have come later.

gee, let's all show our age...by our music. "from the beginning" has been my favorite song for a loooooong time..."living in the past" is right up there, "the other side of life", both "lady" and "babe"...i could type pages...however, having grown up in the chicago area (a lifetime ago), i MUST mention that, just before finally hitting it big, the band "styx" played for my high school prom. how's that for a touch of trivia?

Yeah, Godsmack! ( A little trivia? What does Godsmack mean? ) In all reality? And it is not always the sound. The words .. r the heart of the song. In tandem ... music happens.... Soundgarden~Black Hole Sun~ Have Charter Digital ! Music Choice! Soon will have Charter DVR . That rocks!

phawgg, that was one of THE most heartless moves i've seen in years!!! to put that RIGHT under my nose...the cheapest, my darling....is $3,000/couple...and i have a daughter getting married in spring, and a son leaving for college in jan...where on EARTH would i come up with an extra DOLLAR, much less than an extra 3,000???

however, for some reason, i just can NOT get into this steve mc cherry with journey...gimme the original perry....

i find it odd that no one has mentioned either bob seger (who did no wrong), or matchbox 20...(who i've just discovered...forgive my ignorance)...i wonder why that would be?
