Hello,
I have recently gotten a notebook with Windows Vista Premium with SP1. I have noticed that when I uninstalled the preinstalled Napster, Norton 306 & wild Tangent Games there are still folders with stuff in them in the C:\Program Data Folder.
I also noticed that there are still games listed in the start menu as well as Microsoft Games in the C:\Program Files --- which I can not find an uninstall for.
In addition I had installed spybot on this pc but then uninstalled it since it didn't seem to want to do the updates. There is still a folder in C:\Program Data and C:\Program Files for Spybot. I did notice that with spybot you need to delete some items by hand so I will do that to get rid of those folders (although I think that is for XP since there is not listing for a folder being in Program Data as well).
I had also installed a lexmark x5470 printer on the notebook - first downloading the vista driver. But have had nothing but problems with this printer and would like to get rid of all the traces of this printer on the notebook as well. I did follow the proper uninstall steps but there are traces of this printer all over the place!
I tried contacting Lexmark about this a week and a half ago but never heard back from them - and I also tried asking them again 5 days ago with no response.
There are files for this printer in C:\Program Data, C:\Drivers\Printes, C:\Windows\System32\; C:\Windows\system32\spool as well as if I click on the control panel > printers the lexmark is still listed and there is still an entry in the registry as well.
Does anyone know how I can get these darn traces of the programs (especially all the junk from the lexmark printer) off this pc?
Any Suggestions would be GREATLY Appreciated.
TIA
