My nephew has Toshiba Satellite P105-S9337 laptop and he said screen will go out frequently. He gave it to me to look at it. When I turned it on first time, it blanked out in less than a min. and now the display won't even come on. PC turns on but display remains blank. Any idea what could be wrong ?

If you look at the screen closely from an angle, can you make out the screen? Could be pinched wires, bad inverter, or bad backlight

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Have you blown out the air vents with a can of compressed air? (don't use a vacuum cleaner or a garage air compressor - they'll cause damage).
