Hi there; first time poster here and it's nice to know you're here for help.

I'd just like to know whether the startup items in your database consist of only startup "processes" or are a percentage of the items considered startup "services"? I'm asking in regards to a PC checkup I had done at a local retailer; it indicates my startup "processes" are adequate but recommends getting rid of some startup "services" (none specified in particular).

Any thoughts are appreciated.

What might they be? Do you have a list you can Copy/Paste here?
Most Services can be turned off in Administrative Tools. Processes, we usually recommend a tool like Autoruns:

For instance XP ships with support for uninterruptable power supply support enabled by default. If you do not have a ups, then there is no need to have that service enabled.

Thanks guys. Haven't had a chance to do any further fenagling but I'll keep the thoughts in mind.
