I'm not entirely sure that this will work because of the first part of your description - but the second part can be fixed by going to Start...Run...and typing in "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes) and pressing Enter.
In the windows that opens, left click once on your user account and then uncheck the box that states that "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" - then click on Apply. If a box pops up asking you for the password - just enter it there. If you don't have a password (not a good thing BTW), then just click on OK to exit the dialog. Reboot and it should bypass the screen where you select your account. -------------------- - John
