hi guys , my first post. hope you can help. i have a dell inspiron 2200 that is running slow. it came with 256k and is expandable to 1256k. i bought a 1k stick and installed it . i am sure i did it correct as it only goes in one way and the levers snapped into place. when i go to my computer it still says i have only 256k and there is no change in performance. it is a kingston memory i got at circuit city and he assured me it was correct. thanks in advance for all replies. joe

The memory stick was prolly DOA or bad. I've bought memory from CC & best buy before & they were bad right out of the box. If your sure you installed it right ( properly grounded yourself, took battery out of laptop first & then pressed power button, seated the sticks properly) then the stick was bad. Take it back with your receipt & demand new one.

Hi jjomaski, and welcome to BleepingComputer,

What is the model of the module?

Kingston recommends the KTD-INSP5150/1G for that model.
