No Signal When Installing New Video Card

Hi, I just received my new psu and graphics card. I installed the PSU and everything worked fine, but when i put in my Sparkle Nvidia 8600 graphics card, there was no signal on my monitor when i started up my PC. I disabled my onboard memory and set the main video card to PCI-E on my BIOS. Is there anything else that I have to do in order to install my new graphics card?

Does your board have a Via chipset?
