Hi MattV
I am sure you know by now that Chrome will open to your home page if you set it to do that. It only opens up to the monstrosity if you open a new tab, after you have been using it for awhile and built up a history.
Tom

Yeah, figured that out.

Still not impressed.

I read things about people "testing" the browser by opening a really stupid number of tabs. Seriously, anyone that would have seventy browser tabs open at once really needs to re-evaluate their life choices.

FF will do a half dozen with no problem. That satisfies me.

Now I will have to uninstall it and see what happens.

A half dozen?
Amateur. :flowers:
I've had as many as 28 open at once, in a single window, without any problems.
Any more and they start scrolling.
Since I really hate the scrolling feature, if I need more tabs, I open new windows. :trumpet:
Then I have to start shifting tabs around, between the windows, to get them better organized.

I tried this, it has many new features....but I would like to go with normal menus.

Absolutely!

Besides, I had problem with Flash plugin in Chrome two times (!) during an hour of test. At the same time I had Firefox opened, where Flash ran perfectly! So, my resume is - I'll stay with FF, Chrome is just a nice-looking toy, nothing more. But it's just me.

Well, it is still called a "beta".

Apparently one can " surf using Chrome's incognito mode", which should be a good thing.
Never let your computer realize you are in a hurry or just typing the last few words of a vital document.

While outer events might make one happy or sad, happiness itself is entirely internal, and at all times completely within one's power.

It doesn't sound very resource friendly from what I've read as every tab is a browser ".exe" unto it self (if I read correctly). Did the update do any thing for the "bookmarks" as I've read that chrome really shows it beta-ness in that regard.

Is Google Mail out of beta yet ?

I think Google Chrome's design will mold the future of the Internet. I'm excited to see how Google's new browser will change the world.

The nice thing about the incognito mode is that what you are doing never touches the HDD and remains only in the memory (RAM) so theoretically you can not trace (on said computer) what you did in that window, unless you saved something to the HDD or someone accesses your ISP's records. But all-in-all I like the theory behind how everything works for Chrome.

Yep, as long as it is in "Beta", the whole idea is for it to be tested, evaluated, and the code corrected as necessary.

The "beta" concept is described here in Wikipedia:

Software release life cycle

One should never use a beta program as their primary program of that type.

Indeed, using a beta program on one's primary computer is not something that anyone should recommend.
