Help
I'm interested in picking up a NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT , however before I purchase it I want to make sure that my computer is compatible with this graphics card, but I'm not sure how to tell if its compatible or not, and if it's not how do I make it compatible? I probably should post some stuff about my computer, but I'm not exactly sure what to post... so if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.

The most important thing is if you have the correct slot for the card you want to buy. There's PCI, AGP, and PCI-E (the newest)
The second, is do you have a good enough power supply
What is the make and model of your computer or if it is custom-built, the make and model of the motherboard?
How much memory is installed?

These are the system requirements that you will need to support that card.
Minimum System Requirements
Intel or AMD compatible motherboard
At least 512MB system RAM
PCI Express or PCI Express 2.0 compliant motherboard with one x16 graphics slot
One 6-pin supplementary power connector
A minimum 400W or greater system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26A)
50 MB of available hard drive space
CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive
Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista
VGA or DVI-I compatible monitor

I believe the Dell DV051 is a Dimension E310 but I'm not sure. Is there a Service Tag number on the back, underneath a bar code?I'd like to know before I give you a definite answer

40X491 is whats on the back under a bar code.
