I have a 1 year old HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running windows vista 32bit. Windows SP1 finally showed up a few weeks ago on automatic updates. After trying to install it, my computer showed that I needed a restart. It then showed a screen that read " Configuring update 3 of 3..." The update would never configure and the computer would continue in a loop of turning on with this showing, running for a minute, shutting down, and starting up again, never installing the SP1. I had to use my recovery disk every time to find a restore point and then the computer would work fine. So now windows SP1 is sitting in my updates folder uninstalled. I know I need SP1, but I dont' want to keep going through this. Anyone have any ideas, PLEASE!!

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
