I just got the game "Portal" and whenever I try to load it, it says "Your video drivers appear to be out of date abd could cause some problems if you choose to continue and run the game. We strongly reccommend that you update your video drivers to the latest version available from your driver vendor."

I've got an NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT and have no idea how to update my drivers.

Hi, and welcome to BleepingComputer.

Assuming your Operating System is XP, this should be the video driver for your 7600 card. Download and install as usual.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

just don't forget to uninstall the old ones before you install the new ones. Through Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>Display Adapters

It worked just fine, but then we lost power and the game stopped working again. I'm going to try reinstalling the drivers.

I reinstalled the drivers, and it still doesn't work. I followed exactly what rowal5555 and smurfgod said both times, and I have no idea what to do...

As it has been working OK, then the drivers are on your hard drive and Windows should be able to find them. I have a 7 series card and my driver is shown as 6.14.11.6230. Is this the same as yours?

(Right click on MY COMPUTER/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager/click the plus beside DISPLAY ADAPTERS/right click on NVidia/Properties/Driver)

When you are at NVIDIA, Right Click on that and choose Uninstall/OK. When you reboot, Windows should find the correct driver and reinstall it automatically.

If that does not work then something else may have happened when you lost power, but I have no idea what.

Good luck.
