Trying to do syste restore computer wont let me because of disk error telling me to check disk for error when loads doesn't check disk how do I do it do it manually

Go to Start and type "cmd.exe"
At the top of the search box will be an entry for cmd.exe. Right click on it and select "Run as administrator"
Type "chddsk /r" (without the quotes) into the black window that pops up.
Press Enter
Answer Y (for Yes) when it asks to do it at the next reboot
Reboot.
