First of all I'll try to write down the circumstances of the virus, think these were all connected. I believe it all started with annoying popups whenever I started a new application/process on the computer, an iexplore window would pop up with "love calculator" and "check how smart you are" and such things. I also got random popups saying I was infected and should buy and install Power Antivirus 2008 or something along those lines. Ran Spybot and AVG and got rid of some spyware/adware, and one trojan, can't remember it's name. I rebooted, searched again with both AVG and Spybot, and found the same adware/spyware, and a new trojan, I believe it was the same trojan, but under a different name at a different location on my HDD. Also found that a process started up camouflaged as svchost.exe, which i removed from the hklm/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run in the registry. Rebooted again. When I started up this time the background was changed to a picture looking like a window saying i had a virus and needed antivirus instantly, it had also entered values in hklm/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/policies/system, "nodispscrsavpage" and "nodispdesktoppage" or something along those lines so that I at first couldn't change the background back. i started spybot resident shield or whatever it is called, the one that monitors any changes to the registry, ran adware/spyware search again and avg, found new stuff, but this time it got blocked from adding new stuff to the registry. however when i rebooted i still seem to have the virus, no annoying popups etc anymore, but whenever i try to surf i do not get access to most sites that could help me get rid of this, and clicking links on google simply redirects me to some bogus IP/url with popups/ads etc. "less common" sites work perfectly, (ie. norwegian news sites and search engines), also I cannot download any files at all, no matter where from. I have now run through the "preparation before posting hjtlog guide", gotten 60+ alerts from zonealarm that some ip has been blocked from connecting to me, also iexplore.exe is attempting to connect to the internet all by itself, which i find strange since i dont use iexplore or have it running. Thanks alot in advance. |

Hello Hakiki,
I apologise for the delay, the forum is too busy. If you still need help, post a new HijackThis log. Please do not mess up anymore with your registry, as it can create more problems than you have. Are both your pc and your sister's pc connected on the same Network? -------------------- ![]() MRU Honors Graduate Private Messages for personal support will be ignored.
