The hardest part of installing the new RAM will be figuring out how to open the case, you will have to figure out how to remove the side panel to access the inside. Most computers have a locking mechanism which needs to be released in order to slide the panel off. This tutorial can help you understand the process of installing the RAM, if you click on the pictures they will enlarge.

This is a much better tutorial. Thank you DC3. What does Ram do? I bought 2 GB's. Will it stop my computer from taking 3 minutes to close a single window? I feel that half of my business day is spent waiting for windows to open and close because everything is so slow. I bought a 250GB external hard drive to help free up some things but it didnt really help. Is there a place I can go to that can show me what is safe to move from my cpu to my hardrive? Thanks for the link and thanks in advance for your help.

Kind Regards,

Mike.

Wikipeia is usually pretty good about explaining these sort of things.

I suspect that you are going to notice a considerable improvement in performance with the new RAM added. Let us know how it turns out.

When you sit down to install it just tap the outside metal case to discharge any static
