You could get sound out of the PC speaker. I think otherwise, you need to have a sound card or a motherboard with a sound card built in.

I did a little experimenting with the pc speaker device. I wanted to have regular audio coming out of the speakers and a synth track coming from the pc speaker. Turns out it's very difficult. If your pc beeps when it starts up, you probably can use it to playback audio. There are some weird drivers around just for the pc speaker. What kind of pc?

SIW - System Information for Windows
Everything you want to know about your computer

SIW is a standalone utility that does not require installation (Portable Freeware) - one less installed program on your PC as well the fact that you can run the program directly from an USB flash drive, from a floppy, from a network drive or from a domain login script.
