BleepingComputer.com: Macbook Pro Headphone Jack Problem

Augh! I had my headphones in the headphone jack on my MacBook Pro, and I took the headphones out. I saw the volume was all the way up and I went to turn it down, but the volume was locked. There was no sound coming through the speakers on my mac. I looked in my system preferences in sound, and it said my output was "Digital Out", but when I plug my headphones in it says the output is "Headphones". What is going on?! Also, there is a red light coming from the speaker jack.

I tried putting the headphones in and out at least 50 times, i tried prodding around with a toothpick, I called Apple Customer Support and they told me to take the battery out (didn't work), Press Command+Option+P+R when I turned it on (didn't work), restarting it (didn't work), so I ran out of options.

PLEASE HELP! I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO SEND IT BACK OR GET IT TAKEN APART!!!

Sounds like a hardware issue. I just tried connecting headphones to my Mac with System Preferences > Sound > Output tab window open. Without the HP connected Internal speakers is listed, when I connect the HP Line Out appears. When i disconnect the HP it went back to Internal speakers but for an instant I saw Digital Output. Something is causing the Mac from not going to Internal speakers from Line Out when disconnecting your HP.
Just a wild guess here but what things are listed in Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup > Audio Devices tab? My Mac has these settings.
