Deny it, INI files NEVER start up with your pc, and desktop.ini is normally settings for your desktop and is normally hidden.

If you enable the viewing of hidden files you'll notice to faded desktop.ini files on your desktop. Right click on each one and select "Edit", then copy/paste the contents to your next post.

FWIW, here's the contents of my Vista x64 desktop.ini files:

C:\Users\FUBAR\Desktop

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21769
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-183
[LocalizedFileNames]
Windows Explorer.lnk=@%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\shell32.dll,-22067
Internet Explorer.lnk=@%windir%\System32\ie4uinit.exe,-734

C:\Users\Public\Desktop

[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21799
[LocalizedFileNames]
Feedback.lnk=@%systemroot%\system32\feedback.dll,-101
