XnView will read .cdr files, and it's FREE.

You're quite welcome, amit_4184.
It's been a while since I've played around with XnView, and I don't remember how to change the view.
It's on my old computer, but I don't have it installed on this one.
Tomorrow, after work, I'll hook up my KVM switch to my old one, fire up XnView, and see if I can remember how to do it.
I'll post back with the directions tomorrow night, if someone else hasn't replied with the solution, before then.

xnview will display certain image files, like .cdr, in thumbnail view only.
You can tell which ones as they will have "{preview}" listed at the end of the file name like the example below:

If you have MS Office with the corel draw filter installed (cdrimp32.flt), you may be able to open the image and save it in another format using word, excel or pp via the Insert>Picture>From File menu.
See this article for specifics and which versions of corel are supported.
