Error Cannot Load C/windows/plfset.dll Error message on startup

Each time I switch on my Acer laptop to run Windows Vista home edition I get a box saying:
Error cannot load C/Windows/PLFSet.dll.

I click OK and it continues to load normally. I don't know what effect this has on my use of Windows, but I have noticed that I can no longer get to Task manager via Cntrl/Alt/Del, as I think could before.

Hello ,have you recently removed any Malware? had any viruses. Have you onthe otherhand scanned for malware to se if this is the cause?

How do I get help? Who is helping me?

It sounds like a virus. To remove this error Start > Type in the search "msconfig", go to the startup tab and untick the box that says PLFSet.dll.

You may them want to perform a virus scan.

Please don't use msconfig to remove startup items, it's intended as a troubleshooting tool only.

Instead, use the Software Explorer in Windows Defender for the more common startups - and this free program for the more complicated issues: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...s/Autoruns.mspx
