When posting your problem, do not run and post a ComboFix logs. ComboFix is a tool that should only be run under the supervision of someone who has been trained in its use. Using it on your own can cause problems with your computer. Any posts containing CF Logs will be ignored.
To receive help, you should instead provide a detailed description of your problem, detailed word-for-word error messages that you are receiving, screenshots of strange behaviour, and your operating system. This information is much more useful to our helpers than a ComboFix log.

I was on the internet looking at some websites I often go to. I used google to search up the link to my website... and when i clicked it, a popup? came up. It was one of those download wizards asking me to go download a 2008 version of a antivirus giving only me only one option... "Yes, I agree" with no "No, I don't agree" choice. So i opened up Windows Task Manager to end that process. After I ended it, the wallpaper on my computer changed into a blue screen saying "Warning - Spyware detected on your computer. Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer." Everything was the same except my wallpaper changed with all my program icons and taskbar exactly the same. I wasnt too sure what to do so I logged off on that account and switched to my other one. It seemed fine until my wallpaper changed into the same one from before, a few seconds after startup. I turned off the computer then, and turned it back on. The wallpaper was gone... but now my internet was REALLY REALLY messed up. Many websites i type in would say, no connection, please try again. and give you a few troubleshooting tips. My internet connection was fine so that wasn't the problem. Google worked so i tried going onto my websites by typing into the search bar. The searches came up as they normally do, but whenever i click on a link, it takes my to a completely different website. Even if i click on the same link, it takes me to different sites each time. So i cant download any antivirus programs that I TRUST. It keeps taking me to some random websites. I run an old virus scan and nothing comes up... so i tried downloading antiviruses from my laptop onto an external hard drive.... But the problem from a few days ago came back, so i couldnt use those programs... I went to my last resort, the system restore. But when i checked it, it said there were no restore points, which is really weird. Because every few weeks my computer automatically creates restore points. The problem is that i have trouble going onto the internet at all and the computer crashes randomly really often. I am a computer noob but any help will be greatly appreciated!! Note: I am typing this from my laptop since my desktop isnt able to acces websites at all... Thx! This post has been edited by stinkybuba: Aug 20 2008, 08:42 PM |

I moved your topic here - to the Am I Infected Forum.
I need you to download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. If you can't do it on the infected station, see if you can download it to another and move it by flash/thumb drive - or cd - to get it to the infected one. Please follow this procedure: Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop. alternate download link 1 alternate download link 2
