If I may and I know that it is possible someone has suggested this before, . . but it would be really great if BC had an Image upload that can work directly from your PC, other services have this,

Is it expensive or elaborate ? Am I asking to much, . . . probably, I just thought it was a controversial and provocative suggestion !

May I ask why we don't have this here ?

For security reasons BC does not enable direct uploads of images to the forum. Pics can be embedded with nasties so, it is best not to allow that.

You can upload an avatar from your pc. Could this not be abused, or does the size restriction make this impossible?

I think it must mainly be because of storage restraints. Think about if only 100 people added a 3MB jpeg every day. You'd be using up gigabytes in no time. I'm just guesstimating but that may double our day-by-day storage use.
