Hi samuel3.
Desktop or notebook? Desktop will have a sticker on the lower right hand panel. Model # and\or serial number will be on it. Newer models will have a 22 character serial starting with a "p". Older models will have a 20 character serial starting with "91". On a notebook, newer models will have a sticker on the bottom with a 22 character serial starting with "lx". Older notebooks, serial numbers are the same as older desktops described above. You can enter the serial number here and drivers are available at the same site. You may also see the make and model itself in the upper left hand corner of the sticker. This post has been edited by HitSquad: Aug 18 2008, 07:57 AM |

The event viewer may give some more information.
1. Click Start select run 2. Type eventvwr.exe 3. Press enter 4. Search through the groups for errors and warnings. 5. Double click on each error and or warning. 6. Locate the copy to clipboard button, (under the two arrows)7. Let us know what you find. (paste the results) Also have you looked in the device manager? -------------------- Regards

Ahaa!!!
So it's not an acer, it's an iQon technologies system, which is out of business. QUOTE i have everest home edition and not sure what to look on to see my model number Open Everest. Make sure you select Everest at the top of the menu. Click Report>Quick Report-All Pages>Plain Text. Post whats listed under [summary] only at the top of the report. Did you look at device manager for audio device conflicts as nigglesnush85 suggested? |

In that case, open the device manager and look for the sis audio controller then choose to update driver. Tell it you want to search locations manually. Then tell it to look in the driver folder then the winxp folder.
