I loaded AOL 9.1 which comes with its own browser, and everything works fine as long as I use it, and not IE. But I strongly dislike AOL - mainly, because it hugs 20% of the screen at the top with marketing crap, and I can't get rid of it. Also, I connected to the same route with another laptop, and that functioned perfectly well. I appeciate qualified suggestions or requests for additional information - is this a virus? (I have update Norton anti-virus and scanned it successfull) Is there a way to reinstall IE 7.0? I couldn't figure out how; it appears that now it's joined with the Vista at the hip, so you can't reinstall one without the other. I noticed there is a Windows Vista SP1 pack update available. Is there a chance it will fix the problem? Thank you! |

There is a Service Pack 1 release for Vista - and you can get it at Windows Updates. I don't know if it'll fix your issue tho' - I'd go with Jacee's suggestion first.
FWIW - I use Firefox instead of IE7 (it's free here: http://www.mozilla.com ) and it works quite well once you get used to it. There are other free browsers available also - but I'm not familiar with any of them. This post has been edited by usasma: Aug 17 2008, 03:50 PM -------------------- - John
