Slow Wireless Connection

Hi I have just bought a D Link DIR 300. I connected it to my Zyxell prestige 600. I attached the usb receiver.
I have a 1.5 mb connection. However now with the wireless connection I have a pityful 70kb/sec and 9 kb/sec DL speed!!!!
This is all new to me, and would appreciate any help,

Could you run a speed test? It should give you download and upload speeds. http://www.speedtest.net/
