Hi,
New here, so bear with me. I'm about to go off the deep end lol! I have two computers here, my hubby's and mine...both have AVG antivirus, and BOTH will not update! A window pops up and says there is a .bin file missing, and when I look at the update manager on avg, it's also showing there that a .bin file is missing. The lil' icon on the right hand side of the computers has a big exclamation point over it (the avg icon). What should I do? Or what can I do to fix this problem on both computers? The version of AVG on both pc's is the free 8.0, and I have windows xp, he has windows 2000 professional. ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!NOW, HEEEEEELLLP!! lolol...i read it thumbup2.gif

OOPS! I meant to say, I've uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, re-downloaded and installed avg 8, but still not working sad.gif

Edit: Moved topic from XP to the more appropriate forum. ~ Animal

Hi LilKitty44 and welcome to BC. Unfortunately, that is a problem AVG has to fix. They are working on it. Please see this post at the AVG forum.

You're not alone. It's a bug

From their forum:
"Confirmation that the problem is with AVG, as suspected by the fact that everyone was affected at the same time, and not the individual users: This is copied from the AVG Free Forum.

"Currently the update for AVG Free v8 is corrupted... you will have to wait for AVG Technologies to address the issue with the update.

Reporting the issue again by other users here will not do any good util it is resolved.

The updates that your AVG currently have will still provide the protection it is setup to detect. In otherwords, just getting this update will not make your AVG Free ineffective and as soon as AVG Tech resolves the issue you will be able to update to the current virus definitions at that time."

I think AVG has fixed it now.
